Beautification

KMB/PAL strives to help Mississippi residents cleanup and beautify their communities. Through a partnership with the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Service, and many others, the "Majesty of Mississippi" project was initiated.

This project asks Mississippi residents to plant "yellow, gold, and red" flowers throughout their community and promoted the use of native wild flowers. Communities interested in planting wildflowers can contact their local Soil and Water Conservation district office for seed information.

Keep America Beautiful research has shown that where an area has been beautified, people are less likely to litter.
